Comments Off on Agency Update: Helly Hansen, Market Research, and Why I Haven’t Been Blogging as Much as You’d Like

Apologies to all my wonderful fans out there who have been waiting with baited breath for my latest posting.  Today won’t be one of those ranty and arguably incredibly negative posts I normall post.  I know I’m a bit of a vain person, but I thought some people might be interested in an update on a few things that everyone’s favourite small firm, Denote, has been up to.  I’d love   Read More ...

Comments Off on Samsung Commercial Gives Apple a Beating

I guess I’m a bit biased as a Samsung Galaxy SII owner, but I love this ad mocking the Apple early adopter culture. (Relax, I still own 2 Mac computers, an iPod, and an Airport!)

Comments Off on USA is Missing the Global Revolution and We’re Not Much Better

Time Magazine Dec. 5, 2011

Look at the latest issue from Time Magazine and tell me what’s different about the US version relative to the rest of the world.  I think this is a great commentary on what Time thinks of its North American readership.  I don’t claim to be an expert on anything international after having spent 2 weeks in South East Asia, or even after having brokered a few international trade deals, but take a trip to the other side of the world and learn how ignorant we actually are.  It’ll do more for you than watching The Daily Show.

Like I said in my last post, real posts on stuff that’s a bit more local and close to your heart later in the week.  Denote is just keeping me too busy.

Comments Off on Old Spice Bear Deoderant Protector Keeps the Campaign Chugging

Old Spice just keeps going!  Watch the infomercial above for the answer to all your deodorant needs.  Seriously though, you can actually buy it for $19.99!

Real posts on stuff that’s a bit more local and close to your heart later in the week.  Denote is just keeping me too busy.  New web sites launching soon and marketing communications for those brands continue to consume my day.   I’ll be sure to post info about our sites once they launch…and I’ll check our NDAs to see if we can talk in detail about any of our marketing and communications plans before the campaigns are completed!

Drop me a line and we might even be able to discuss it all in person…in the new year when I have time 😉

Comments Off on You’re Not an Entrepreneur! Embrace it and be Proud!

I really dislike the word ‘entrepreneur’. It’s a word I’ve never liked for various reasons, and a word I specifically try to avoid. A quick jaunt to Wikipedia and you’ll see that entrepreneurship can be defined as “one who undertakes innovations, finance and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic goods.” I think a key word in there is ‘innovation’. Is it innovative to perform a service   Read More ...
